Acupuncture
At Elm City Wellness, we are committed to supporting you with your health goals. Although results from acupuncture can often be seen quite quickly, regular treatments are typically required to achieve the most long-term effects. Rather than working on symptoms, Chinese Medicine works on the underlying issues to help you make lasting changes.
That is why we are now offering packages of 10 private acupuncture sessions (60 min), initial consultation (80 min) included.
In addition, traditionally, acupuncture was given on a regular basis in order to keep the patient’s system in balance. Therefore, once your initial goals are achieved, it is still recommended that you come in at least once a month for a “tune-up”.
Following are just a few of the reasons that people often seek out acupuncture packages for, although virtually anyone can benefit from them.
Stress/Anxiety/Depression
Stress has simply become part of modern life, so much so that even Western medicine now acknowledges that not only can it make any health condition worse, it is actually the cause of a number of them as well. Acupuncture is well known for helping to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit so that stress, anxiety, and depression can be relieved. In addition, this often is exactly what’s needed to eliminate the side affects of those emotions including insomnia, migraines, and digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome.

Infertility (not just for women!)
Difficulty in conceiving can come from a variety of issues. In many cases, stress is the biggest component, something that acupuncture excels at reducing. In other cases, there is a hormonal imbalance that is preventing conception, which Chinese Medicine is also adept at assisting with. Even with those women working with IVF, many choose to get acupuncture before and after implantation. Although research studies have not yet confirmed the benefits, we believe that helping the would-be mom relax and having her system working peak function is a good way to do everything possible to ensure a successful transfer.
Menopause
Some hormonal changes, such as those that women go through during menopause, are natural. But that doesn’t mean that you need to simply suffer through the side effects. For some, they are minimal. For others, they cause a huge reduction in quality of life, at least from time to time. Among the symptoms that can be experienced with menopause include: hot flashes, insomnia, heart racing, vaginal dryness, depression, anxiety, weight gain, and UTIs. Acupuncture and herbal therapy can assist with both the symptoms and the underlying hormonal changes, to help you through this transition happy and healthy.

Sports Performance There’s no doubt that acupuncture gets the most press for its ability to relieve pain. While any athlete has his or her share of that from time to time, or even chronically if training hard, regular acupuncture sessions can actually help sports performance as well. Traditionally, martial arts masters in China were also often acupuncturists and Tui Na practitioners who used their skills to further assist their students. Endurance, speed, power, and flexibility can all be boosted with regular acupuncture and Tui Na.
